Located in Kyoto’s historic Okazaki district, the newly opened “Okazaki Salon” is more than just a café or a rental space. It is a vibrant crossroads of knowledge and culture. Established within a beautifully renovated Kyomachiya townhouse, the salon is designed as a gathering place where professionals from diverse fields come together—crossing boundaries, embracing differences, and cultivating intellectual exchange.
As part of Enlighten Research Studio, Okazaki Salon aims to foster meaningful dialogue with experts from around the world. It is a space where people from different disciplines can share time and place—reflecting on the past while envisioning the future. Our vision is to spark new movements through engaging, cross-disciplinary conversations that connect diverse fields and perspectives.
The space is designed with openness in mind, allowing for a wide range of activities—from intellectual discussions to art exhibitions. Though modest in scale, it can also function as a gallery, showcasing works and concepts that inspire visitors and challenge conventional ideas.
